Hidden Colour | The Art of Noise
About the series:
An accidental nudge of the saturation levels revealed the most magnificent colour information hidden in my Black & White scans.
I was intrigued by the hidden colours in my B&W files, and the unique effect revealed by the saturation slider (no other digital manipulation or adjustments). And noticed a consistent behavioural pattern of colour information across the series — a defined centre strip, with either more pronounced or different colour, rather like an abstract painting.
The resulting effect, with it’s abstract-like colours and increased noise levels, reminds me of frozen video frames from the 1980s and bands of that era, like Duran Duran and The Art of Noise.
Two images from this series were featured in PhotoED Magazine’s Winter 2024–25: COLOUR Issue — Digital Bonus Issue.
